About the Plan
How soon can I use the plan?
Since it’s not insurance, Careington dental plan customers can use their plans immediately, with no waiting. You will receive a Temporary ID at the completion of the application. This Temporary ID can be used at any of the plan’s providers. You can see a dentist as soon as you have an appointment. Sometimes members join a plan and use it the very same day.
What if I have a dental emergency?
Careington 500 memberships are effective immediately, so it can be used for your dental emergency as soon as you can schedule a dental appointment with a Careington provider. Be sure to tell the provider you have a dental emergency when calling for an appointment.
How much can I save using the plan?
With the Care500 Plan, you save 20% – 60% on dental work. Your exact savings depends on the plan you have and the work being done.
Can I see what I am going to pay at the dentist office?
With most plans, you can only see a sample or estimate of fees before joining. However, a Careington plan allows you to see a full schedule of fees even before you become a member.
What is your refund policy?
We are very confident that you will be satisfied with your dental plan membership. However, in the event that you are not satisfied, we offer the following refund policy:
You can cancel in 30 days and receive a full refund, less your processing fee.
How do discount dental plans work?
Discount dental plans are a simple way to save money on dental work. A dental plan member goes to a dentist in the provider network and pays much less for the work being done.

When will I get a card?
You can print the Temporary ID immediately at the end of the online application process. You will receive your permanent ID cards in about 5 to 10 business days.
How many times a year can I have my teeth cleaned?
How can I find a provider?
Can I use my discount dental plan with another Dental Plan?
Yes (unless your plan is a PPO, HMO, or another discount plan).
Just go to a participating provider, show your membership card, pay the discounted fees at the time of service and ask for a copy of your bill. Then, file the claim with your insurance company to be reimbursed by them. This reduces your out-of-pocket expenses and stretches your dollar so you reach your maximums more slowly.
You may also use the discount plan for services not included by your plan. For example, many people have medical insurance, but do not have a dental or vision plan. Please remember that discount plans are not insurance and may include fee reductions on many services not included in traditional indemnity plans.
How long has Careington been in business?
THIS PLAN IS NOT INSURANCE and is not intended to replace health insurance. This plan does not meet the minimum creditable coverage requirements under M.G.I. c. 111M and 956 CMR 5.00. This plan is not a Qualified Health Plan under the Affordable Care Act. This is not a Medicare prescription drug plan. The range of discounts will vary depending on the type of provider and service. The plan does not pay providers directly. Plan members must pay for all services but will receive a discount from participating providers. The list of participating providers is at www.seniordental.com/dentists. A written list of participating providers is available upon request. You may cancel within the first 30 days after receipt of membership materials and receive a full refund, less a nominal processing fee (nominal fee for MD residents is $5, AR and TN residents will be refunded processing fee).
